Privacy Policy

Bad Signal is an IPTV and media player app for Android TV, Google TV, and Android phones. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: we don't collect any.

Data we collect

None. Bad Signal has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app never transmits your data to us or to any third party on our behalf. We operate no servers and cannot see how you use the app.

Data stored on your device

To function, the app stores the following locally on your device only:

Playlist sources you add (M3U URLs, or Xtream server details including the username and password you enter), and the channel lists fetched from them.
Electronic programme guide (EPG) data fetched from your source.
Your in-app state: favorites, hidden channels, custom lists, pinned collections, recently watched channels, and playback resume positions for local files.
Network share (SMB/NAS) addresses and credentials you add, used only to connect to your own server.

This data never leaves your device except as described below, and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.

Network connections the app makes

The app connects directly from your device to services you configure: your playlist provider (to fetch channel lists, EPG data, logos, and streams) and your own local network shares. These providers can see your IP address and requests, as any server you connect to can. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies — we have no relationship with them.

Purchases

Optional one-time upgrades are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase entitlement is stored locally on your device and managed by Google Play.

Permissions

Internet / network access — to fetch your playlists, guide data, and streams.
Media / storage access (optional) — only if you use the local media feature, to browse and play video files you choose.

Content responsibility

Bad Signal ships with no channels or content. Users supply their own playlists and are solely responsible for the legality of the content they access.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
